This parcel of ore, contains 5 pounds from the California State Gem Mine, aka Benitoite Gem Mine.
Each piece is in it's natural state and could be a specimen. As with all types of mineral specimens, each piece is truly a one of a kind!
The pieces in this parcel do show visible crystals of Neptunite and a few benitoite are also visible in veins.
Smaller pieces give you more to work per pound.

They are all 100% natural and have not been cleaned other than to knock the dirt off.
This ore is schist and crossite with natrolite from the benitoite mine.
These pieces range in size from about 1.5 inches up to approx. 3 inches. All of the pieces have some level and form of natrolite on them.
If you know this material, then you know the possibility is there in and under the natrolite for benitoite, as natrolite was the last mineral to form at the locale, area covering most crystals.
As with any type of mining or raw material like this, there can be no guarantees, however just one nice specimen can easily pay for this entire parcel.
