Here is a beautiful Boulder opal cabochon. Although it looks round or slightly oval, the shape is more freeform.

Beautiful color play all around.

As with many of these natural polished pieces, there is some slight pitting.

Some fill these in before polishing, but then it would not be 100% natural. 

The bottom has been cut and polished flat for mounting.
