This beautiful gem come from the Rhodochrosite being recovered in the newer Detroit City Portal.
It is precision cut as you will see, some of the finest cut Sweet Home Rhodos I have come across.
The stone is eye clean, super clean for this material. Using magnification, some slight inclusions can be seen.
In regular indoor lighting it look reddish pink, but when I turn on the LED lighting to give them the sunlight look, it take on a more orangy coloring.
Also check out the dispersion in this well cut and polished gem, who knew that Rhodochrosite showed such great color dispersion!
