They say good things come in small packages, and sometimes amazing things come in small packages!

This might be on the small side, however it has amazing aesthetics!

Here is an extremely nice example of the fluorite dissolution / re-absorption process from The Elmwood Mine.

Some refer to this as etching, when in reality is it so much more than that.

From the front side it looks like what you would commonly see with what are referred to as "Carthage Corners", those high gloss clear corners.

When you turn it around, you find that each fluorite cube present has been involved in the dissolution process.

The main two intergrown crystals show this very well.

There is one side cube that shows the process also, but it has a cleave on the back edge, still the process is clearly visible.

A rare fluorite to add to any collection.
