Fluorite with Calcite & Chalcopyrite
Hardin County, Illinois
12.46 cm x 10.05 cm x 8.17 cm , 980 gr.

I call this one "Purple Ice"

This specimen of purple and blue fluorite has the look of cracked ice cubes, with a Purple, blue and pink coloring.

It was very difficult getting photos that adequately show this amazing specimen, I believe the video does a much better job.

This specimen need to be on a rotating turntable as it has two different looks to it. The specimen is a grouping of large fluorite crystals, the largest being 8.3 cm.

The fluorite is very transparent, only needing overhead lighting to take it all in, making it easy to see all the the internal zones and cleavage planes, giving it a very 3D visual effect.

There are also areas if iridescence within the fluorite adding to it's visual appeal.

This is a floater, the point of contact is well healed and also shows some regrowth.

One side of the specimen has the addition of chalcopyrite and some scalenohedral calcite crystals, with one rather large one that double terminated over a fluorite crystal.

There is also one single galena crystal that formed in the healed contact area, the only one on the whole specimen.

The specimen has some slight bruising hear and there buy is very hard to see with everything going on.

Overall a very complex and interesting specimen to be sure.
