Where do I begin to tell the story of such an exceptional specimen with quite the history to it!

This amazing specimen of Pyromorphite comes with a "Krantz & Comp. in Berlin" label, which date this specimen sometime between 1837 - 1850.

That is when he sold his specimens using this label, but the specimen may have been collected even earlier.

Historic "Bad - Ems" region specimens are not easily found in the market these days.

This specimen of amazing green barrel shaped crystals of pyromorphite are set on what appears to be a quartz matrix.

Some crystals can be found on all side, from micro size to crystal growth approx. 1.4 cm long.  They look amazing and can see no damage.

This specimen was purchased and sold some years ago by John Veevaert of Trinity Minerals, my guess on one of his many trips to Germany.

Anyone that knew John, knew of his keen eye for special specimens.

This specimen was once sold through his website for the price listed on his label, and can still be seen on his archived websites page of "Exceptional Minerals".

The first 2 photos are from Trinity Minerals. The last two photos are pages from the Mineralogical Record, that has a biography of Dr. August Krantz and also photos of his original labels.
